The Tor Browser uses the Tor Network to protect your privacy and confidentiality. There are two main features of using the Tor network:
- Your Internet Service Provider, and anyone viewing your connection locally, will not be able to track your Internet activity, including the name and address of your Web site.
- The operators of the websites and services you use, and anyone viewing them, will see a connection coming to the Tor network instead of your actual Internet (IP) address, and if you don't explicitly identify yourself, you don't know who.
In addition, Tor Browser is designed to prevent websites from "fingerprinting" or to identify you based on your browser configuration.
By default, Tor Browser has no browsing history. Cookies are only valid for a single session (unless Tor Browser is out or a new identity is requested).

How Tor works
Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that help you improve your privacy and security on the Internet. Tor Tor works by sending your traffic through three random servers (also known as relays) on the network. The latest relay in the circuit ("exit relay") then sends traffic to the public Internet.
